Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Have you heard of the festival Thanksgiving? It was first celebrated by the Pilgrims in America after their first harvest in the New World in October 1621. It is celebrated on the forth Thursday of November every year in the United States. Do you know there is Thanksgiving in Canada too? It is different from the one in the United States!

In Canada, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October. This is because the Canadian Thanksgiving is closely linked to the harvest festival in the United Kingdom.

The celebration of Thanksgiving in Canada is more subtle than in the United States. One major difference is that it is a public holiday in the United States, but not in Canada. So even though Canadian may have been celebrating Thanksgiving before the American, the United States go even bigger in terms of celebration, followed by Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
